Global Role for Nielsen's IMS Veteran
The Nielsen Company has appointed Paul Baynton as General Manager of its media planning and analysis software business IMS Worldwide. He has been with the division for two decades and was previously MD of IMS International.
He moves from London to New York for the new role, which will give him responsibility for IMS global sales, service and analytics.
Baynton's 30 years of media industry experience began with work as a media planner/ buyer in a London ad agency, followed by a stint as Director of online media news and information database MediaTel. He joined IMS UK in April 1986. In the recent Managing Director role, he played a key part in developing and implementing the firm's UK and international growth strategy.
He holds an MBA from Kingston University and a Geography degree from Cambridge University.
