comScore Appoints Chasin to Guide MRC Accreditation
Josh Chasin, an executive with more than 25 years of media and market research experience, is the new Chief Research Officer at Internet ratings firm comScore.
Chasin has been a consultant with the company since August 2006, working alongside the Media Rating Council (MRC) and Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) to improve the firm's audit and methodological evaluation processes. In his new role, Chasin will champion the firm's involvement with the MRC and its auditors as comScore seeks MRC accreditation (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6823.htm ).
George Ivie, CEO and Executive Director of the MRC said recently that his organisation has noted significant progress in the comScore pre-audit since Chasin became involved.
During his career, Chasin has been directly involved in the development and management of audience measurement services for a variety of media, including television, radio, magazines, newspapers, out-of-home, and the Internet. Prior to joining comScore, he founded Manhattan-based media research firm Warp Speed Marketing. He has also worked for Arbitron as VP Marketing and is the past President/CEO of Simmons Market Research Bureau and Northstar Interactive.
Dr Magid Abraham, President and CEO of comScore says of Chasin: 'He is an experienced media researcher who will play a key role in the continued expansion of comScore's digital media measurement services. With his intimate knowledge of the MRC audit process, we also look forward to Josh's contributions as we take the next step in the MRC accreditation process. We are confident that comScore's methods will stand up to review and we are pleased to be supporting transparency and accountability in the interactive industry.'
Chasin is a member of numerous industry bodies and committees, including the ARF Online Measurement Council, Online Reach/Frequency Committee, Video & Electronic Media Council and Media Effectiveness Council. He holds a BS in Marketing from NYU and an MBA in Marketing Management from Pace University.
