Media Veteran Quits aMAP to Head Research at INX
In India, newly launched news and entertainment TV network INX Media has hired media measurement veteran Tapan Pal as Chief Research and Analytics Officer.
Pal began his career in media planning, and moved on to stints in market research, marketing and business development. He joins the new venture after four years as CEO of Mumbai-based TV audience measurement firm aMAP (Audience Measurement and Analytics). Prior to this he worked in business development with the Discovery Channel and was President and CEO of Zenith Media India.
Mumbai-based INX Media was launched in March by ex-STAR India CEO Peter Mukerjea with investment from private equity fund Temasek Holdings. The group plans to launch 12 news and entertainment channels over the next two years, and a Hindi entertainment channel, a music channel and an English news channel by the end of Q3. Its INX News division is based in Delhi.
