Comperio Opens in Land of Good Sports
Comperio Research, the research arm of sports, entertainment and media company IMG, has opened an office in Melbourne, Australia, with a full-service quant and qual offering. Research Director Iain Barnett leaves the London HQ to head up the new operation.
Barnett has worked at Comperio for the past nine years, playing a key development role. The company opened a Hong Kong office in February, and says it already has a solid client base in Australia.
Commenting on the move to Australia, Barnett says the firm 'recognises the need for constant expansion' to strengthen its worldwide presence, adding: 'Australia was an obvious choice for a new office, as it has a mature sports and sponsorship market, which is ideally suited to our diverse portfolio of products and services.'
IMG has 60 offices in 30 countries and has two major business segments: IMG Sports & Entertainment, and IMG Media. It employs over 2,600 people in 30 countries and was purchased by Forstmann Little & Co. in 2004. Web sites are at www.comperioresearch.com and www.imgworld.com.
