Cello Profits Up 19%

Market research and consulting group Cello has posted pretax profit growth of 19% to £3.1 million for the six months ending 30 June, while revenue grew 44% to £45.8 million.

The firm described this as a 'solid platform for a strong full year' while announcing operating income up 38% to £24.4 million, like-for-like operating income growth of 20%, and basic headline earnings per share up 15% to 6.42p.

Cello cited large contract wins as key to its organic growth, while three acquisitions have also been completed: qual MR firm Rosenblatt/Digital People (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6380.htm ), healthcare research consultancy MSI and public sector MR specialist mruk (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6893.htm ).

Chairman Kevin Steeds commented in a statement: 'As we approach the end of our third full year as a public company, we have much to be proud of. Cello is now firmly established as a leading research and consulting business, with an outstanding group of 650 professionals, a roster of blue-chip global clients, and prudent financing. We now move forward from a position of strength.'
