Screen Digest Buys Adams Media
London-based media intelligence provider Screen Digest Ltd is to acquire Adams Media Research, based in Carmel, California and focused on the US home entertainment market.
Precise financial terms of the cash and stock deal were not disclosed. The deal should be finalized by the end of October.
The two companies already partner to produce an online home video information service, Video Intelligence. The combined company, which will employ over 40 analysts, is developing several new research products and services including Global Media Intelligence, an online service for media-focused institutional investors that will track more than 300 companies in 50 countries across TV, motion pictures, video games, mobile media, home entertainment and broadband media. AMR will continue to operate out of its US offices.
In a statement, Screen Digest's MD Allan Hardy comments: 'This is a hugely significant deal for both companies at a crucial time in the sector. Media players across the world are experiencing changes of seismic proportions, and we now offer more expertise, more data and broader geographic coverage to assist them in running their businesses than anyone else.' Adams President Tom Adams says the deal will give his firm's clients 'access to an enormous range of top quality research on key media markets outside of the U.S., and broaden the scope of our own research.'
