Aegis Acquires Canadian Media Specialist

In Canada, Synovate parent the Aegis Group has bought independently owned Genesis Media to add its data analytics, CRM, digital and direct marketing services to the Aegis Media network. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Toronto-headquartered Genesis, which has gross assets of around $16.2m, becomes part of Aegis's Vizeum group, increasing its presence in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Commenting on the announcement, Aegis CEO Robert Lerwill said: 'Adding Genesis Media to our existing business will create a bigger and better proposition for domestic and international clients alike. This combination will bring immediate benefits, as well as creating a stronger platform for future growth and development in Canada.'

In September, media communications and market research group Aegis posted an 8.7% increase in first-half pre-tax profits ( www.mrweb.com/drno/news7276.htm). Its Vizeum division was founded in 2003 to offer a combination of consumer motivation analysis and media expertise from its network of operations in 40 countries worldwide.
