Ipsos MORI Strengthens Health Team
In the UK, Ipsos MORI has appointed former Research International healthcare specialist Emily Thomas as Research Director, while Lucy Owen has been promoted to Research Director.
Since graduating from Oxford University with a Masters in Chemistry, Thomas has worked on both qual and quant research projects for pharmaceutical, medical devices and medical diagnostic companies. Before Research International, she worked for Synergy Healthcare Research.
Owen's promotion, from Associate Research Director, has been made in recognition of her work running qual and quant studies on behalf of both global and domestic clients. Prior to joining the firm in 2006 (www.mrweb.com/drno/news5638.htm ), she spent five years leading both domestic and large-scale multi-country studies at healthcare specialist agency Questor International. She has a Business and Marketing Sciences degree and her specialist research areas include cardiovascular, CNS, musculoskeletal disorders and diabetes.
Head of the Health Research team Sarah Phillips (who also joined the firm from Research International www.mrweb.com/drno/news7234.htm ) explained: 'By expanding the team at a senior level we are well placed to capitalise on the growing market opportunities for our services. This is also linked to our wider group strategy to be a global as well as a domestic player in the healthcare research field.'
