AOL Marketing Head to Join Telegraph
In London, newspaper group Telegraph Media Group (TMG) has announced that current AOL UK Head of Marketing Barry Flanigan will join the group in March as Marketing Director, working across all marketing disciplines including research and strategy.
Flanigan joined AOL in 2003 after a three year spell at Level 3 Communications, where he worked across both product and marketing strategy development. Prior to this, he was a Senior Consultant at Ovum. He has a PhD Advanced Telecommunications from Cambridge University, an MSc in Optoelectronic Communications from the University of St Andrews, and a BEng Electronic Engineering (Hons) from the University of Glasgow.
Flanigan will take on his new role from Kate Vanneck, who left TMG to join Time Media last July. When he joins in March, he will report to former AOL Europe Director Michael Moore, who became TMG Executive Director of Consumer Markets last August (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7005.htm ). Moore says Flanigan 'will bring with him lots of valuable experience, particularly in the digital arena, and give a refreshing new focus to our marketing efforts.'
The publisher of The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph and The Weekly Telegraph is online at www.telegraph.co.uk.
