Draftfcb Hires Data and Analytics Head

In the US, marcoms agency and Interpublic subsidiary Draftfcb has expanded its data and analytics practice with the appointment of OgilvyOne's Ira Helf as its Executive Director.

Reporting to a former Ogilvy colleague, Draftfcb's New York President Peter DeNunzio, Helf will manage a team of around 20 to 30 data strategists and data technologists and has the remit to expand the practice as needed.

'Ira is somebody who makes data fun,' said DeNunzio. 'He has the ability to present his work in ways that are easy to understand. He takes the mystery out of it.'

Helf's most recent role was Managing Director of Marketing Analytics at Ogilvy One in New York, where he oversaw the agency's quantitative and analytical work including campaign measurement and tracking, test design, customer profiling, segmentation, and predictive models. Prior to this, he was Vice President at Claritas / The Nielsen Company, Senior Analyst at IRI, and Department Manager at CACI. He has a Master's in Statistics, an MBA in marketing and a Bachelor's in Mathematics.

Launched in 2006, Draftfcb uses consumer advertising and behavioural data to help clients build marketing programmes. The firm's network spans 110 countries, employing more than 9,000 staff. Its web site is at www.draftfcb.com.
