Acrobat Buys Canadian Omnibus from Maritz

Acrobat Research is to acquire the Omnitel omnibus / tracking business of Maritz Research Canada. Running since 1986, Omnitel interviews 2,000 Canadians from across the country each week on a wide variety of topics.

Maritz Research Canada MD Rob Daniel says the sale will allow his firm 'to focus on its core offering - marketing research consulting focussed on helping clients understand and track the dynamics of customer choice, experience and loyalty in target sectors.'

Acrobat, founded in 1994 and with headquarters in Mississauga and a network of research centres across Canada and the USA, has worked with Maritz on the delivery of Omnitel since 2004. Its President, Roland Klassen, comments: 'The acquisition of Omnitel is a significant step forward for our company. It allows us to build on our core competencies of delivering sound field research, both telephone and online. We will be able to serve new and existing clients with a broader suite of offerings. We anticipate that we will leverage the brand equity that Omnitel has acquired over the past 22 years, and take the product in new, exciting directions.'

The firms are online at www.acrobat-research.com and www.maritzresearch.com .
