Revenue Rises, Income Falls at Datascension
US data collection firm Datascension has logged revenues up 37% to $20.3m for the year ended 31 December 2007; however, operating income tumbled 70% to c.$92,000 from c.$313,000 last year.
The firm's net loss decreased 12.3% to $999,633 from $1.14m in 2006.
In a statement, the firm said the revenue increase reflects its determination to continually expand its customer base and service offerings. The company intends to increase operational efficiencies in 2008 in an effort to increase operating income levels.
Chairman and CEO Scott Kincer stated: 'We are emphasizing our focus on operational efficiencies to reduce the cost of goods sold in an effort to improve operating income next year; however, we are also continuing to invest back into the company for future expansion.'
Last summer, the firm relocated much of its activity to lower cost sites outside the US.
