Decision Resources Buys Manhattan Research
In the US, healthcare market research firm Decision Resources has acquired physician and consumer opinions agency Manhattan Research. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2002, Manhattan Research was formerly the healthcare research division of marketing analytics firm Cyber Dialogue (now Fulcrum Analytics). The company provides a focus on physician and consumer use of information technology, including next generation digital media such as social networking, blogs and podcasts.
In March, Decision Resources boosted its managed care franchise with the acquisition of Fingertip Formulary which provides access to formulary data in the US.
Manhattan Research co-founder and COO Joe Farris says the firm's approach offers clients a unique perspective on how physicians and consumers are gathering healthcare information through digital marketing vehicles. 'Combining our insight with the industry expertise of Decision Resources will provide our clients with a greater understanding of how to reach their target audience and craft their messages in line with evolving macro trends in the industry', he added.
Decision Resources says the acquisition will significantly expand its portfolio of market research and data businesses for the healthcare industry, while providing it with a larger footprint in the consumer market research arena. 'Manhattan Research is an important acquisition in our overall strategy to expand our portfolio of companies with firms that offer innovative, high-value market research solutions to the healthcare industry,' explained CEO Peter Hoenigsberg.
