eDigital to Assess BBC's Online User Experience
In the UK, the BBC has awarded digital market research provider eDigitalResearch a three year contract to provide quarterly user analysis and usability surveys for a number of its bbc.co.uk web sites.
The surveys will gather customer feedback on the usability, content and appearance of the sites, which include the dedicated programme, channel and news and sport sites. Results will feed into the corporation's editorial decisions, technical online improvements and cross-site promotional placements.
Direction and content of the surveys will be overseen by the BBC, while the technical teams at eDigitalResearch will advise on their execution and delivery.
Michelle Fuller, Director of eDigitalResearch comments: 'Our website usability studies and customer surveys will help the BBC to more openly engage with its publics so that it can continue to deliver a world-class service.'
Hampshire-based eDigitalResearch was established in 1999 to provide web-based research tools that provide feedback and measurement of user opinions, customer satisfaction, loyalty and web site usage. Last summer, the firm launched eDigitalCommunities, a service to help businesses set up interactive forums to collect feedback from their web site visitors.
