MediaCom Buys Control of Denmark's Data Intelligence
WPP-owned media investment network MediaCom has acquired 75% of JLM Holdings, the parent company of business consultancy Data Intelligence.
The Copenhagen-based firm was founded by Lars Quaade, Jesper Dam Nielsen and Mikke Hagedorn in 2000 as a specialist department of media agency OMD Denmark.
Since breaking away as a stand-alone firm in 2004, it has focussed on producing modelling tools - based on advanced mathematical analysis, statistics and econometrics - that calculate the effectiveness of a company's media and marketing investments. The collection of quantitative data is the starting point for every project, and each model is unique to each customer.
Although most of the firm's clients are based in the Nordic region, Data Intelligence also works with clients all over Europe. The company employs 15 staff and had revenues of DKK 12.3m (c.£1.3m) for the year ended 31 December 2007.
MediaCom told DRNO that Quaade, Nielsen and Hagedorn will continue as shareholders and be active in growing the business further.
