GrapeCity Acquires Data Dynamics
Software development firm GrapeCity is to acquire data analysis and reporting software developer Data Dynamics. Terms were not disclosed.
Established in 1996, Data Dynamics tools help business executives and developers sort, filter, organize and display data; while performing real-time data analysis. These tools also allow users to answer questions about data and drill down into detail for more complex queries.
Under the terms of the agreement, GrapeCity will purchase all Data Dynamics products and the resulting revenues.
GrapeCity, which has sold, and supported Data Dynamics' products in the Japanese market for more than a decade, will continue to develop and support these products worldwide, including the forthcoming release of ActiveReports in the first quarter of 2009.
'We've always been impressed with the high quality of Data Dynamics' products,' stated GrapeCity President Naoyuki Baba. 'The firm's outstanding suite of data analysis and reporting software will help us expand our business intelligence and analytics offerings across a broader range of vertical markets.'
Data Dynamics President Tim Moffatt responded by saying that GrapeCity's market presence will enable a broad range of developers to benefit from using his firm's products.
GrapeCity, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner with headquarters in Japan and offices in the US, has 800 employees worldwide.
