Success Metrics Unveils Voting Trend Tool
As the US goes to the polls, self-service business intelligence and analytics provider Success Metrics has launched a state-by-state voting analysis tool which compares 2004 election results by state and Congressional district, with data from the 2000 Census.
Using its Birst on-demand intelligence dashboard, Success Metrics has compiled data and charts to show how 'battleground' states voted in the last election alongside demographics - age, race, income, occupation and educational level - for each district.
The data provides a historical benchmark which the firm believes will be used for comparison with today's election results. Past data show that in swing states such as Ohio, voters with higher education and income levels mainly voted for Bush in 2004, yet in this election, the Republicans have positioned themselves as the party of 'Joe Sixpack' - a hypothetical citizen regarded as the 'common man'.
Also of interest is the charting of presidential voting since 1900, which reveals voting results by state, including in landslide years such as 1964, 1980, 1984 and 1996.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Success Metrics analyzes information through its Birst data mining and analysis solution. Web sites: www.successmetricsinc.com and www.birst.com .
