Nielsen Hires Head for China Consumer Role
In Hong Kong, Nielsen has appointed Umang Pabaru as Managing Director, Nielsen Consumer Research, for the Greater China region, leading the teams in Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan.
Pabaru has spent more than 14 years in international market research and brings to Nielsen extensive experience across a wide range of markets and industry sectors as well as with several major multi-national clients. Prior to joining, Pabaru worked for TNS as Director of the Consumer Sector for Hong Kong & Singapore.
In his new role, he will report to Mitch Barns, President, Greater China; and Dave Parma, President, Global Consumer Research.
The firm said in a statement: 'With Umang's leadership, Nielsen's consumer research team will bring greater clarity on clients' markets and provide clients with deeper understanding of their consumers along with actionable insights to answer to their business needs.'
