infoGROUP Finds CFO and CIO; Promotes Dean
ORC parent and database giant infoGROUP has made two senior appointments: Thomas W. Oberdorf joins as Chief Financial Officer; and Thomas J. McAlister as Chief Information Officer. Interim CFO Stormy Dean becomes EVP and General Manager of the Data Group.
Oberdorf, who will be based in Omaha and reports to CEO Bill Fairfield, joins from Getty Images where he was CFO and Treasurer; before this he held CFO and leadership positions with supply chain management and ecommerce solutions firm Moduslink, Bertelsmann Music Group in New York, the Reader's Digest Association and Cheseborough-Ponds. He is a graduate of Boston College.
The identification of a new CFO was part of the settlement of the shareholder derivative litigation in July 2008 - Dean stepped into this gap temporarily and in keeping with his name has helped the firm weather troublesome times from a number of key leadership positions in the last two years.
McAlister was CIO of Metrogroup Corporation from 2005-08. He has also served in leadership positions for JP Morgan Chase and Ameritrade Holding Corporation, and holds a Master of Computer Systems Management from Creighton University. In his new role, he will co-ordinate initiatives from all the company's business units and its central function to develop an overall IT governance strategy.
