Blyk Launches Youth Research Panel
In the UK, youth mobile phone network Blyk has launched a research service for its target group of around 200,000 16 to 24-year-olds who use the free service.
Advertisers will be able to ask members specific survey questions via their WAP-enabled mobile phones, and receive feedback through fortnightly focus groups.
This new service has been launched following an SMS-based poll Blyk conducted on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families, to uncover what teenagers do in their free time. The firm generated more than 3,700 responses to this 'Teen Talk Survey', which it believes is the largest ever SMS-based poll of this demographic.
Shaun Gregory, UK CEO commented: 'At Blyk, we are building on what we have already learned from tapping into the views and opinions of our members - we have now opened the doors for other brands to do the same.'
Blyk is a free European mobile operator for young people, funded by advertising. The firm was founded in Helsinki in in 2006. Web site: www.blyk.co.uk .
