Belgian Firm Debuts Remote Online Tool
In Belgium, Insites Consulting has launched an online tool which allows users to conduct in-depth interviews and online user experience testing through remote desktop technology and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol).
From their own desktop, researchers can use the new Online 1/1 tool to follow participants' mouse movements as they test the usability of a web site. Respondent and moderator can communicate with each other through chat, headset and VoIP, and during the session, both can show online material (documents, web pages, etc) to the other party.
The firm tested the tool by comparing both online and offline user experience research conducted on the Citibank web site, and found that both methodologies produced the same recommendations.
'This tool also works very efficiently with in-depth interviewing, for example confronting key opinion leaders in the B2B or pharma industry with brochures or other visual stimuli,' stated Connected Research Manager Tom De Ruyck. Online 1/1 is part of the firm's Connected Research suite of tools.
