Nielsen Moves Meyer for Top China Media Post
Nielsen has transferred Jed Meyer from its US operation to the post of Managing Director, Media Services, Greater China based in Shanghai.
Meyer, who joined Nielsen in 1992, has spent the last 16+ years working in management roles for the firm's US Local Television Client Service division, and for Nielsen Online, where he helped to develop the SiteCensus measurement platform.
More recently, Meyer was SVP of DigitalPlus, leading the company's efforts to develop new client applications for digital set top box (STB) data by combining it with other data to define standards for digital commerce.
In his new role, he will oversee Nielsen's media businesses across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan and report jointly to Mitch Barns, President, Greater China, and Richard Basil-Jones, MD, Media, Asia Pacific.
'Jed's appointment - along with the international research and development centre we are developing in China - reinforce Nielsen's strong commitment to the China market,' said Barnes. 'We are committed to expanding our existing capabilities while also investing in the development of new services to measure the nation's growing use of both traditional and new digital media to help our clients run their business more effectively.'
Earlier this month, Nielsen appointed Duncan Falzon as Executive Director of Nielsen Media Thailand and Media Index, Asia Pacific.
