GfK Buys Remainder of IFR Monitoring Group

GfK has expanded its Retail and Technology network by increasing its stake in shelf-analysis specialist IFR Monitoring Group by 24.2%, to 100%. Terms were not disclosed.

Headquartered in France, IFR Monitoring Group carries out continuous retail research into the pricing and shelf-analysis of IT and communications products, office equipment, photographic equipment and large and small household appliances, in 2,600 markets in Europe, Brazil, China and the US.

The IFR Monitoring Group, which has 16 global subsidiaries and a total staff of 268, is managed by CEO Nicholas Brouet.

Back in 2005, Gfk acquired continuous pricing research firm Beyen Marktforschung, and integrated it into the IFR Group.
