$3.5m Win Gets Psydex Psynging
In the US, Psydex, a provider of services that analyze the world's news sources, has received $3.5m in funding. The money will be used to launch a news service portal that scours newswires, Internet feeds, TV, blogs and other sources of 'chatter' in real-time.
The firm's new Psyng service has been designed to reveal statistical patterns and trends in social networks, human behavior and financial markets.
'We've solved some of the really hard problems with analyzing semantics across both archived and real-time unstructured data streams,' says co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Don Simpson. 'Our novel approach is based on proprietary, grid-based semantic algorithms and a temporal search and discovery engine.'
Psydex is currently offering Psyng as a beta version and enabling independent journalists - or 'Psyngers' - to join its 'Psynger' Network and contribute at a professional level.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based firm is online at Web site: www.psydex.com .
