Good Data Raises $2.5m for BI Platform
In the US, Good Data - which provides a secure space where users can access and share data and analysis - has raised $2.5m in venture financing, which it will use to complete development of its platform and assess its market potential prior to launch.
Good Data was launched in 2007 by CEO Roman Stanek to combine Web 2.0 with business intelligence (BI) computing in order to provide a platform for the delivery of collaborative analytics. The service is available as a free trial and is currently being tested by a number of BI consultants, SaaS (software-as-a service) providers, and data companies.
This round of funding has been led by General Catalyst Partners, with participation from O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, Wincrest Partners, Marc Andreesen and Ben Horowitz. This brings the total the firm has raised to date to $4.6m.
'The on demand analytics market opportunity is huge,' said Larry Bohn, MD of General Catalyst. 'Roman Stanek has the vision and track record to build Good Data into a leader in the space, and we are excited to partner with him.'
Good Data is headquartered in San Francisco, with operations in the Czech Republic.
