YouGovStone Launches Monthly 'Opinion Former' Club
In London, YouGovStone's MD Carole Stone is about to launch a monthly invitation-only club, where like-minded people can exchange ideas and build both business and social partnerships. Ideas generated by the StoneClub will come from, and feed back into, the firm's research.
Networking guru Stone was previously Producer of BBC Radio 4's discussion programme 'Any Questions?', since when, she has developed a business based on a circle of her friends and business contacts, said to number around 30,000.
Online research firm YouGov acquired a 51% stake in the business in 2007. The resulting firm, YouGovStone, has developed its own opinion former panels to undertake tailor-made research, and has expanded YouGov's existing ThinkTank panel of 4,000 top level opinion formers.
TheStoneClub's inaugural meeting will take place on Monday at a venue in Berkeley Square, with comedian and impressionist Rory Bremner providing the entertainment. Future events will 'take the temperature' of topical issues, and each month YouGovStone will poll the ThinkTank of opinion leaders on a subject suggested by TheStoneClub's members.
'To be really productive, creativity must have access to the right people, the right ideas and the right stimulus,' explained Stone. 'I want TheStoneClub to be buzzing with interesting people ready to contribute ideas and strike up productive relationships with each other - and our YouGovStone research will help them do it.'
