'Twitter-like' Launch for Polling Portal
In the US, social polling network Polladium.com has launched what it describes as a 'Twitter-like' interface where members can vote and express their opinions on polls ranging from politics and entertainment to sports and technology.
The service allows members to create a free account and customizable VoxBox profile page. This can be customized according to themes such as political affiliation - represented by the Democrat donkey and the Republican elephant.
If a member finds another's opinions interesting, they can then 'listen' to that member and view all future opinions that member posts when voting.
Polls are organized by geographical location, and categories such as business, entertainment, health, international politics, science/technology and sports.
In addition, organizations can add a Polladium icon to their web site, which links back to their own Polladium page. Through this service, organizations can poll visitors on their sites about any topic.
'Polladium offers a chance for us to easily tap into the views and opinions of our readers,' said Jef Price, Editor and co-founder of online publication NecessaryCool.com.
The Massachusetts - based firm is online at www.polladium.com .
