Omniture Announces App Map for Facebook

US web analytics firm Omniture has unveiled a system for measuring the success of advertising on Facebook applications.

This new solution can be used to help marketers better understand Facebook users and their engagement with applications, while providing insight into campaign conversions such as the last click or product purchase.

It also offers insight into the relationship between Facebook site traffic and other online channels such as web, mobile and video.

'With more than 200 million active users, marketers are intrigued by the potential of Facebook to help them connect with consumers,' commented Brett Error, CTO and EVP of Products. 'This solution will help marketers develop data-driven social media marketing strategies that support and positively affect efforts across other online channels.'

The new solution, which has been designed to help Omniture SiteCatalyst customers develop more relevant, user-friendly Facebook applications, is part of the Omniture Online Marketing Suite.

Through the recent partnership between Omniture and WPP's insight and consultancy division Kantar, the pair have also created a new platform, which enables advertisers, agencies and media to see how their online and offline activities impact on one another.
