Consumer Health Sciences (CHS) has added more than 13,300 Chinese consumers to the database for its 'National Health and Wellness Survey' (NHWS). Plans are also in place to roll out the service further across Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
NHWS is a self-reported patient database providing market sizing, demographic, attitudinal, quality of life, resource utilization and treatment information across more than 100 therapeutic categories. It covers patients who are diagnosed, undiagnosed yet symptomatic and untreated, and those treated with prescription and over-the-counter medications.
The firm says that with the addition of China, NHWS - which already covers the US, Europe and Japan - will support both Chinese-centric and cross-cultural analyses based on patient-provided metrics.
CEO Mike Kelly comments: 'The expansion of NHWS provides a valuable tool to help clients measure opportunities; create segment-specific marketing strategies; understand diagnoses, treatment choices and outcomes; and identify patient demographics, compliance and satisfaction'.
NHWS has added more than 108,000 patients to its database in 2009.
CHS is part of WPP health consultancy KantarHealth, which also includes MattsonJack, TNS Healthcare and Ziment.
