In the UK, Infogroup-owned ORC International has launched a new Data Solutions group, which will help clients handle large amounts of complex research and administrative data.
The team, which brings together the firm's data management and web development employees, offers services including building bespoke web solutions such as microsites or information portals, through which complex data sets can be stored, managed and accessed by a range of users.
The firm says it has recently used this approach for tracking the progress of millions of individuals through training schemes and employment initiatives; for an online data collection application which enabled a national public body to collect funding information from 800 separate sources; and for a portal for collating student assessment data.
Mike Tickner, Director of the group, comments: 'Our new Data Solutions group allow us to provide a seamless approach to web-based market research projects where large amounts of often complex research information need to be collected and presented in an accessible online form. We will also be developing information portals that allow a single holistic view of data to be generated from disparate data sources including survey data and other relevant business critical information.'
ORC, which specialises in employee, customer and stakeholder market research, is online at www.orcinternational.co.uk .
