In the US, speech and text analytics specialist Verint is to acquire online survey management software firm Vovici. Terms include an initial cash payment of $56.5m, and then up to $19.9m based on future performance.
Vovici (formerly known as Perseus|WebSurveyor) provides survey systems, panel management software and online community solutions for gathering customer and employee feedback.
Last year, the firm raised $5.7m of a targeted $6.3m equity offering from early investors Austen Ventures and The Mayfield Fund, which had previously contributed $10m to Vovici in a Series B round of investment.
Verint's acquisition will add Vovici's enterprise solutions, interactive dashboards and ad hoc analysis to its own VoC (voice of the customer) offering, which captures and analyzes information from sources such as voice, video and unstructured text.
Vovici CEO Greg Stock states: 'Generating a unified view into the customer experience is a critical enabler for every business today. Whether driving customer loyalty, optimizing operational performance or supporting broader business transformation initiatives, the addition of Vovici to Verint's proven, market-leading solutions will greatly expand our ability to help unlock the value of customer experiences.'
