In the US, ratings giant Arbitron has appointed Chief Operating Officer Sean Creamer to its Board of Directors, after seven years with the company.
Creamer (pictured) joined Arbitron in 2005 as EVP, Finance and Planning, and was promoted to CFO later that year. In 2010, he was named EVP, US Media Services, responsible for the firm's radio and cross-platform services and operations. He has been EVP, COO for the past year, and is responsible for Arbitron's core business - ratings, qualitative, and software - and for the execution of the firm's global cross-platform, digital and mobile growth strategies.
Prior to joining, Creamer was SVP and CFO of Laureate Education, and before that he worked in financial roles at Mobil Corporation and Price Waterhouse.
Commenting on the promotion, Chairman Philip Guarascio said: 'Sean will bring to the Board his keen awareness of the media and marketing information landscape and of the company's opportunities for expansion. He will be a valuable addition to the Board as the company moves forward with its plans to further enhance the value and utility of its core radio services and to develop new sources of revenue in the emerging mobile and cross-platform markets.'
