Retail analytics company Euclid has launched Euclid Zero, an off-line shopper analytics package which does not require users to install hardware but operates with existing wireless infrastructure.
The new service measures the activity of all shoppers carrying a Wi-Fi enabled mobile device, without requiring them to connect to an in-store network or run a mobile app. Data provided is aggregated and anonymous, and Euclid says it provides 'an easy opt-out for anyone wishing to do so'.
The firm says the software requires no dedicated sensors, complex in-store installation or configuration and works with networks from leading enterprise Wi-Fi providers Aerohive Networks, Aruba Networks, Fortinet and Xirrus. Results come via a dashboard and include metrics like Engagement Rate, Visit Duration and Visit Frequency.
Euclid was launched just over a year ago and billed itself as 'Google Analytics for the physical world'. CEO Will Smith comments: 'Euclid Zero makes it dramatically easier to get the big picture about what's happening in your stores. We're excited to give retailers a much faster and more convenient way to experience our breakthrough shopper analytics.'
In February, Euclid partnered with US retail performance consultancy Claris Solutions to offer a solution that uses mobile sensors to map shopper traffic patterns in retail spaces.
