Consumer insights specialists Cristina de Balanzó, Siemon Scamell-Katz and Rafal Ohme have set up a new London-based neuroscience consultancy called The Walnut Group.
Prior to the launch, Balanzó was Global Head of Neuroscience at TNS. Scamell-Katz founded ID Magazin, now owned by TNS, and continues in his role as Global Consulting Director for TNS Retail and Shopper. Ohme founded two biometric companies, Human Mind & Brain and LABoratory & Co.
The new company promises to draw on advances in neuroscience to help brands understand the emotional and subconscious aspects of consumer decision-making, and formulate strategies in areas such as communications and product testing, in-store and shopper marketing, and identity development. Additionally, the company offers tailored workshops to provide a better understanding of how to utilise neuroscience techniques alongside existing methodologies and business processes.
Commenting on the launch, the team said in a statement: 'We are incredibly excited to be starting this new venture and we hope to be reinvigorating neuroscience research which we believe is the future of market research. We are looking forward to playing a key role in the consultancy and research world ensuring we deliver brand growth.'
