Millward Brown (MB) has announced plans to open a new office in Myanmar (Burma) during the first quarter of 2013, subject to the approval of the local authorities. The new office will be led by Compass Research co-founder Lyndal Pearce.
MB is already conducting projects in the area, but says it is now establishing a permanent presence there to better support local and regional clients operating in the country.
Qual specialist Pearce (pictured) joins with an extensive background working in research in Asia. She co-founded Compass Research in 1997, and served as its Research Director for more than a decade, during which time the firm employed 30 full-time researchers and 165 field staff. Since then, she has held a number of positions including that of Director at Cimigo in Vietnam and Research Consultant at Plan International & ChildFund in Laos.
Gonzalo Fuentes, MD of Millward Brown South East Asia, comments: 'It is clear that Myanmar is going to be a great engine of growth for our clients, and having a presence in the region will better serve their needs. As always, we are committed to bringing new approaches to the area of branding and communications insights. To start this journey with Lyndal and her vast experience of the Myanmar market is a great privilege.'
