London-based child and family research specialist The Pineapple Lounge (TPL) has hired former Illuminas Research Director Pete Maginn as Head of Research. In addition, Tammy Perl joins as a Research Executive and the company has promoted two members of staff.
Launched in 2011 by qual agency Firefish, TPL offers strategic consultancy, research, market analysis and trend forecasting for kids and families brands. Maginn joins after more than nine years at Illuminas, most recently as leader of the Child and Youth team, and has worked on child and family research projects, across categories such as toys and games, baby gear, food and drink, media, and education. He worked as a Senior Researcher at Hauck Research International, before its merger into Illuminas, and he gained vocational experience as a Montessori nursery teacher and while running summer camps for teenagers.
Perl joins after serving as an intern at Flamingo and completing a degree in Anthropology from the University of Manchester. Meanwhile Ben Frost and Laura Pamment have been promoted to Associate Director.
TPL founder Emma Worrollo comments: 'Pete and Tammy are valuable additions to our rapidly growing team. Pete has oodles of experience and I've no doubt the team will thrive and clients will benefit from his appointment. The TPL family goes from strength to strength with the addition of new specialists, and investment in our existing talent, all of whom share a passion for kids research.'
