Sports marketing firm Repucom has appointed Shane Mattiske as Joint Managing Director, with a remit to drive the consulting and strategy side of the business.
Mattiske spent fifteen years with Australia's NRL (National Rugby League), including nine years as Director of Strategy and Special Projects and nine months as interim CEO, and is known as the man who negotiated the League's five-year $1.2bn rights deal with networks Nine, Fox Sports and Telstra. He left NRL in 2014 to work as an independent consultant.
According to media news site www.mumbrella.com.au , Mattiske will exploit learnings from Repucom's international sporting clients and its 'leading position in media analysis', as well as his own experience, to deepen the group's focus on media rights strategy and expand its consulting offer.
Other senior hires for the company this year include Lars Stegelmann as EVP Commercial Operations in the German-speaking region; former SAP exec Claude Ringuet as its Head of Consulting for Asia, based in Singapore; Alexandre Callay as Global Director Media Research and Content; and former Lawn Tennis Association Chief Commercial Officer Simon Long as Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland.
The Group is online at www.repucom.net .
