Cinema management, film distribution and customer analytics software firm Vista Group International has acquired a 50 percent stake in cinema intelligence specialist Share Dimension. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Netherlands-based Share Dimension has developed an algorithm which combines historical box office information with scheduling technology for the cinema industry. The firm's flagship 'Cinema Intelligence' suite of solutions features a prediction module that helps predict moviegoer attendance per movie, per cinema, per week, and allows analysis of past move performance, box office, trends, and attendance habits.
Vista Group, which is listed on both the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges, offers cinema management, film distribution, and customer analytics software to companies across the global film industry. CEO Murray Holdaway says that through the acquisition, his firm's people and infrastructure will be available to support the growth of Share Dimensions' business.
Claudiu Tanasescu (pictured), founder and CEO of Share Dimension, adds: 'The partnership significantly expands and strengthens Share Dimension's product, geographic reach and channels to market. Together, we can bring to our customers our unique expertise in business intelligence and advanced predictive analytics, to power their business decisions around the buying and scheduling of films.'
