In Australia, comms group Bastion Collective has acquired Melbourne and Sydney-based research agency Latitude Insights, which will be re-named Bastion Latitude on 1st February. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded by former Blue Moon Research AD Diane Gardiner (pictured) in 2007, Latitude offers a mix of online and off-line qual and quant research and marketing services, including customer insight communities, and communications and advertising research. Gardiner says her firm looks forward to joining a group of 'likeminded businesses', and developing insights-led campaigns with Bastion's group of agencies.
Bastion Collective CEO Fergus Watts says the acquisition will help clients better understand their existing customers and take full advantage of growth opportunities in their markets. 'We had been looking for a research company for some time that would assist us with our desire to understand human behaviour on a micro level, and Latitude Insights stood out head and shoulders above the rest', he added.
