Three of the partners of California-based Nichols Research have formed a new company called AMS Ventures, in order to acquire the business. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded by the late Mimi Nichols in 1978, Nichols Research offers a full range of qual, quant, moderating, UX, and national field management services from offices in San Francisco, San Jose / Sunnyvale, Fremont and Fresno. According to the trio - Amy Shields, Michael Mermelstein and Steve Zuppas - they have acquired the company in order to 'broaden the depth and breadth' of its reputation, products and services. As part of the deal, Shields takes up the position of President, Mermelstein becomes EVP, and Zuppas will be Chief Financial Officer.
Commenting on the transaction, Shields says: 'With the infusion of a fun new culture and a revitalized strategic plan, Nichols Research promises to continue to provide the premium service the brand name has demanded for almost four decades, while also expanding our services, investing in technology and looking to the future in order to provide more valuable answers than ever for decision-making.'
