Customer data solutions and enterprise tag management specialist Tealium has raised $35m, for use in accelerating product integrations with mobile, Internet of Things (IoT), and off-line sources; and for global expansion.
Tealium was co-founded in 2008 by former WebSideStory execs Mike Anderson and Ali Behnam. (WebSideStory changed its name to Visual Sciences, was then acquired by Omniture and is now part of Adobe). Tealium's customer data platform comprises an enterprise tag management solution, omnichannel customer segmentation engine, and a suite of data services, spanning web, mobile, off-line and IoT. It has also j ust launched an Executive Briefing Centre at its expanded San Diego HQ, to help maximise customer value from their investments in both Tealium and other digital marketing and customer data solutions.
CEO Jeff Lunsford (pictured) comments: 'As the mobile and IoT revolutions create increasing flows of real-time customer data, our goal is to be a strategic partner that actively helps our customers design and deliver compelling experiences with a best-of-breed combination of all of the amazing solutions available in the marketplace. Our new Executive Briefing Centre is a great place for these activities, where we will demonstrate innovative and thought-provoking use cases in the digital-meets-physical world and help our customers map out effective strategies optimized for their businesses'.
The new financing includes participation from all existing investors, and adds to last year's $30.7m Series D round, led by the Data and Analytics investment team at Georgian Partners, complemented by a 'major investment' from Bain Capital Ventures, and participation from current investors Battery Ventures, Tenaya Capital and Presidio Ventures.
