US industry body the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA) is opening up its membership to qual researchers who work in-house and at ad agencies.
Not-for-profit QRCA offers access to a network of more than a thousand qual experts, who are involved in the design and implementation of focus groups, in-depth interviews, in-context and observational research, as well as other qual approaches. Its goal is to promote excellence in the field of qual research by pooling experience and expertise to create a base of shared knowledge. Membership benefits also include access to business opportunities through the QRCA Find a Researcher directory and partnerships with colleagues, plus a members-only forum, online training and vendor discounts.
QRCA President Jay Zaltzman (pictured) says of the decision to broaden membership: 'The future of qualitative research is changing at a rapid pace, and QRCA aims to be a leader... Adapting to meet the needs of researchers from across the qualitative spectrum is crucial to ensure a healthy future for qualitative research and the many industries that depend upon it'.
