Amy Charles, SVP of Ipsos Loyalty in Canada, has been elected Board Chair of the country's Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA). She begins the two-year role this month, and replaces Mark Wood, VP, Kantar TNS Canada.
MRIA is Canada's professional association representing all aspects of the market intelligence and survey research industry. Members include more than 1,800 practitioners, small to large research houses, and many buyers. Charles (pictured) will bring experience from more than seventeen years at Ipsos, and roles at Sociovision, Environics, RISC International and Intersearch. She has been a member of the MRIA Board since 2010.
She comments: 'MRIA is the trusted mark behind public opinion research and insights, for the public and for business leaders across Canada. It is already recognized as a strong advocate and partner in defining rigor and standards: impacting legislation such as PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and CASL (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation), making mugging and sugging illegal, obtaining important exemptions such as those in the national Do Not Call Registry and is the voice for the industry with the CRTC'.
