In the UK, consumer insight and sensory specialist MMR has acquired creative video and visual design agency Ideal Insight, as it looks to strengthen its research delivery and storytelling capability. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Founded in 2012 by James Morgenstern, Ideal Insight creates bespoke visual content for clients through an in-house production studio. The firm says the sale gives it greater business infrastructure, a global office network, and a chance to further invest in its team of in-house designers, videographers, photographers and animators.
Following its sale, Ideal will continue to focus on growing clients across many sectors, while supplementing this with the development of a product storytelling toolkit in the research arena. Ideal's recently appointed MD Ben Fathers (pictured), formally a researcher at TNS and Tesco, says the acquisition will enable MMR to combine scientific research with creative journalism to bring consumer feedback and market findings to life. Mat Lintern, Global MMR CEO, adds: 'The fact that we can now leverage a talented team of commercially-orientated creatives in our traditional research areas is a massive plus as we strive to ensure our research findings have maximum impact'.
