Tennis Australia Names First Insights Chief

Sports governing body Tennis Australia has hired former JWT exec Josie Brown for a newly created role, Chief Insights and Marketing Officer.

Josie BrownAs well as promoting tennis and participation, Tennis Australia facilitates player development, stages local and international events and invests in tennis facilities around the country. Brown (pictured) joins with more than twenty years' experience in the digital marketing arena, with more than seven spent at JWT, where she most recently served as APAC Director of Digital. Before this, she was P&G's Interactive Marketing Manager, responsible for overall digital strategy across all brands in Australia and New Zealand. Earlier, she co-owned Sputnik Agency and served as the firm's Client Services Director; and founded full-service online marketing agency Factory212, which later merged with Sputnik. She has also worked client side for NineMSN and Lufthansa.

Commenting on the appointment, Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said: 'We are delighted to welcome Josie Brown to the team and believe she will help us grow our organisation's customer focus and insights driven decision-making while expanding our brand presence across the globe. This new executive role will see her responsible for the overall execution of all marketing and brand strategies as well as ensuring Tennis Australia is at the forefront of data-aware decision making'.
