Australia-based media intelligence group Isentia has appointed James Merritt, currently Head of APAC at dunnhumby, as Chief Executive for Asia, starting 4th November.
Merritt has spent more than a decade at the consumer data firm, originally heading up the P&G account and then in GM roles in Thailand and Korea, before being promoted to MD for Thailand and Malaysia and then for APAC as a whole. Before dunnhumby he spent three years at its parent, supermarket group Tesco; and three as a bar manager at JD Wetherspoon. In his new role he is responsible for continued growth and strategy execution across Isentia's Asia markets.
Ed Harrison, appointed CEO and MD of Isentia a year ago and working to rebuild confidence in the company after a near-disastrous acquisition, says of the new hire: 'James is a seasoned professional and commercial leader, he brings with him a lot of passion for delivering real value and business building as evidenced through his success in multiple Asian markets. His familiarity with market solutions that combine technology, software and consulting, mean that he is particularly well-placed to lead our Asia strategy'.
The Group, which as of last November also has a new CTO, CHRO, CFO and Chief Product Officer, is online at www.isentia.com .
