UK Internet pioneer Virtual Surveys has promoted Quentin Ashby to the role of Managing Director, with founder Pete Comley moving to the more strategic role of Chairman.
Comley, always a hands-on type, will also remain involved in client projects. Ashby will oversee the business on a day-to-day basis and will continue to grow the new Manchester office which he set up for the company in 2004.
Pete Comley says the changes will give him more time to concentrate on driving innovations: 'The Internet is still a fast moving place and no one doing research can afford to be complacent over what they are doing. In particular, I'm keen to develop our concept and product testing side of the business as well as ensuring we always remain at the forefront of website testing'.
Ray Poynter and Marilyn Reardon remain as the other Directors, with focuses on technology and process quality respectively. The agency, which was founded in 1998 and is recognised as one of the leaders in UK Internet research, has doubled its turnover in the last 3 years and was featured in MrWeb's Hot Half Dozen last summer.
