Arbitron Inc. has appointed Vaughan Scott Henry, 43, as its Executive VP and Chief Information Officer (CIO), replacing Janice M. Giannini. Henry will be responsible for the management of the IT infrastructure that supports all of Arbitron's business units, and have a major role in the continued development of the Portable People Meter system.
According to President and CEO Steve Morris, to whom he will report, Henry's 'strong leadership and project management skills will help us fulfil the promise of PPM, both as a local market audience ratings system and as a key component of Project Apollo'.
Henry has more than 20 years of information systems and corporate IT experience, joining from E5 Systems of Waltham, MA, where he was a regional vice president. He worked previously for Vitria Technology, Inc., was CIO at Talkingnets and spent six years in the Business Systems and Business Solutions groups of Verizon Communications, Inc. He also worked for consultancies Price Waterhouse and Andersen Consulting and for the U.S. Department of Labor.
Henry holds a bachelors degree in Economics from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. and attended George Mason for an MIS degree.
