Ipsos MORI has appointed Richard Habis as Business Development Director, and promoted Karen Swords to Director, both in its growing healthcare division.
Swords joined the firm's healthcare team seven years ago after five years in account management at IMS Hospital Services. In her new role she will lead projects for key accounts in sectors such as osteoporosis, cardiovascular, 'pain' and diabetes therapy; and will strengthen services for clients switching from prescription to OTC status.
Habis was previously Regional Healthcare Research Manager for Ipsos' Middle East and North African operation. A qualified pharmacist and former market research and sales force effectiveness manager for Eli Lilly, he will continue the development of the company's prescription medication research practice.
Both will be based in Harrow and report to Ipsos MORI Insight MD, Andy Parker. Parker comments: 'Pharmaceutical companies are becoming increasingly aware of the need to conduct pre-launch research before introducing a new therapy to the market, as well as using research to measure sales force effectiveness during and after the initial launch. The specialist knowledge that Richard and Karen offer the healthcare division will enable us to further support the specific needs of the diverse range of pharmaceutical clients we service.'
Ipsos MORI was formed when Ipsos Group acquired MORI in the UK in October 2005. It has a turnover of over £100m in the UK, while the parent Ipsos Group has sales of more than 717m Euros. It is online at www.ipsos.com .
