Papua New Guinea (PNG) is to get its 'first' annual syndicated research study, courtesy of Starfish Research (Asia-Pacific).
The Papua New Guinea Consumer will be conducted annually and based on a national survey of PNG consumers with fieldwork conducted in the capitla Port Moresby, Lae and Goroka. The nation has just under 6 million people, speaking more than 850 languages. Starfish says the country has enjoyed strong recent growth, with improved economic management making more of its rich natural resources.
'Our clients in PNG have been asking for this for quite some time', comments Nicholas Cameron, CEO of Starfish Research & Strategy. 'The PNG market is often disadvantaged simply due the lack of basic market research information. The market is very profitable for our clients, but it is difficult for many of them to prepare sound business cases... Market research plays a major role in economic development in situations like this, where information is an essential requirement for major capital investments.'
